Little Shop of Horrors, written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken and loosely based on the 1960 film of the same name, follows the story of Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant who accidentally grows a man-eating carnivorous plant, leading to chaos and violence. The show, which originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1982, became a cult classic beloved for its dark humor, campy charm, and memorable musical score.

Little Shop of Horrors Cast

Ben Crawford (Orin Scrivello) started his Broadway career when he covered the roles of Jean Valjean and Javert in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables at the Broadhurst Theatre. Since then he’s played the titular character in Shrek, been a big bully in Big Fish, ran around like a sane lunatic in On the Twentieth Century, fathered a spoiled brat in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and he was blessed to be the Phantom in Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera, which closed in April after its 35 years on Broadway. Ben’s other credits include 110 in the Shade, Hello Dolly, Assassins, Merrily We Roll Along, South Pacific, Beauty & The Beast, & Oklahoma! Carina Crumbly (Crystal) is stoked to make her Art Farm at Serenbe debut and is thrilled to return to the role of Crystal with a cast that may not be plants, but they still devour! A Spelman College BA Theatre and Performance graduate, Carina previously played Crystal (Newnan Theatre Company), and Clara The Light In The Piazza (Jennie T. Anderson Theatre). She also had the opportunity to perform as a monologist at the National Black Arts Festival (Woodruff Arts Center) and performed at 54 Below in a musical duo group with fellow urchin and twin sister, Morgan Crumbly. Morgan Crumbly (Chiffon) is so thrilled to be making her debut in Art Farm at Serenbe's Under the Tent Series! Performing in this production has been a lifelong dream for the Atlanta actor, singer, and writer. Special thanks to her family and friends for their continued love and support. Diana DeGarmo (Audrey) is a seasoned entertainment producer and performer with nearly 30 years of professional experience in music, theater, film and television production. She gained early international acclaim on American Idol, was most recently recognized for her starring role in Always…Patsy Cline at STAGES St. Louis, and was introduced to the supporters of Art Farm at Serenbe in last year's Under the Tent series. Diana's career of credits include on & off-Broadway shows, National & International Tours, live & scripted television, film, event production, songwriting, arts education and philanthropy, thus far. She resides in Nashville, with her partner Ace, from where she supports The Theater Bug and The Tennessee Dachshund Rescue. Thanks for having her back, Art Farm!

Abby Docherty (Ensemble, Understudy Audrey) is thrilled to be joining the cast of Little Shop of Horrors after recently playing Sophie in Mamma Mia. Other previous credits include, Claire, On the Town; Babette, Beauty and the Beast; Sandy, Grease; Elle Woods, Legally Blonde, and two contracts traveling and performing with Norwegian Cruise Lines. BFA Musical Theatre, Belmont University. She is a proud alum of Lachey Arts and is represented by Avalon Artists Group. Glory to God and the deepest thank you to Matt Logan, her family, and Bryan.

Seth Nathan Green (Seymour) is a musician, actor, and improviser based in Nashville, TN. In 2024, he created a mostly improvised, autobiographical sketch musical “Seth Nathan Green Performs A One-Person Show” with a cast of 20+ and released an EP “Sad Sack” the same week. Before that, he was in a court-mandated coma for 30 years and did nothing of note.

Amitria Fanae (Understudy Audrey II, Crystal, Chiffon, Ronnette)  is thrilled to make her debut at with Art Farm at Serebe!!! In 2018 she was Awarded Best Actress in a Musical from Broadway World for Celie in The Color Purple at Theatre West End. Other credits include Dream Girls, Ain’t Misbehavin, Godspell, Smokey Joe’s Café, and Shrek. Amitria has also performed in Walt Disney’s The Festival Of the Lion King as Zawadi and conjured spells as  the singing sorceress Celestina Warbeck in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. Judah D. Norman (Understudy Crystal, Chiffon, Ronnette) is a singer, actress, dancer, composer, artist, puppeteer, tutor, and summa cum laude graduate from Reinhardt University. Her training began at the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts and continued at Reinhardt, where she performed in Cabaret, Crimes of the Heart, Anything Goes, Oliver Twist, and Sweet Charity. Professional experience includes Owl at Home, Stellaluna, and Ruth and the Green Book with Center for Puppetry Arts, A Christmas Tradition at the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theater, Elf Pets: A Fox Cub's Christmas Tale, Bring It On: The Musical with Independent Artists' Playhouse, Macy’s Great Tree Lighting 2017-18, the World of Coca-Cola© entertainment department, and SurroundSound Band & Funky Like Sunday James Brown Tribute Band under MoRey Entertainment. Judah is elated to be in Little Shop of Horrors, and her highest gratitude goes to God, her mother, friends, and family for helping her grow as an artist and person.

Bradley Parrish (Ensemble, Understudy Mr. Mushnik) is thrilled to be here in Serenbe this September working with such a phenomenal team! He is originally from Portland, OR; this past May Bradley graduated from Belmont University’s Musical Theatre program in Nashville, TN. His favorite past roles include Monty Navarro in Gentlemen’s Guide, Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, and Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly. He would like to thank his family in Portland and Nashville for their love and encouragement, and is grateful for this opportunity! 

Daja M. Rice (Ronnette) is a performing and teaching artist. She obtained her Bachelor of Art in Theatre Performance and Education from North Carolina Central University and her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from University of Georgia. She has spent the bulk of her career performing on stage in roles such as Effie White in Dream Girls, Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act, and currently playing Church Lady Doris in Aurora Theatre’s The Color Purple. She also cofounded and directs a mobile musical theatre program for youth, Rice Performing Arts Camp, alongside her husband Jonathan Rice. 

Arik Vega (Ensemble, Understudy Seymour and Orin) (he/him) is originally from West Texas, and earned his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. He has performed regionally at Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, The Marriott Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, The Fireside Theatre, and Studio Tenn to name a few. Vega has also worked professionally as a wedding/basic ballroom dance instructor and fight choreographer. He has been seen on television in Chicago Fire (NBCUniversal), as well as McDonald's, Maytag, and UPS commercials. Currently in television circulation, he can be seen as a medical scribe in an Oak Street Health commercial. You may follow his journey on Instagram @arikvega. 

Melinda Doolittle (Audrey II) is a soul–stirring songstress. She became a household name during season six of American Idol in 2007. She came in third in the voting, first with Simon Cowell calling her his “personal favorite” and quickly became the sweetheart of American Idol winning over the hearts of all with her stunning powerhouse vocals and her personal charm. In 2009, Doolittle released her debut album Coming Back to You garnering rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times, which hailed her as one of the most “phenomenally gifted” singers in years. In 2013, she released her sophomore album You’re The Reason. People Magazine states, “Her voice is a slinky purr then a mighty growl that will keep you coming back for more.” In the middle of her album releases, she penned her book Beyond Me: Finding Your Way to Life's Next Level. Melinda was also the well-loved co-host of TV Line’s Reality Check. Doolittle continues to thrill audiences everywhere from the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame to The White House, from the Copa Room to Carnegie Hall. In addition, she has been a featured guest with the Boston Pops, Charlotte Symphony and United States Air Force Orchestra to name a few, including a featured performer at the 2015 Boston Pops Fourth of July Spectacular. She is currently headlining her own soulful show Great American Soul Book. In thankfulness for all she has been given, Doolittle gives back to these amazing organizations: People Loving Nashville, Porter’s Call, and Higher Love.

Garris Wimmer (Mr. Mushnik) is excited to be “Under the Tent” with dear friends in a show that he has a fond history with having played Seymour twice over 30 years ago! He was a founding company member of Tennessee Repertory Theatre (now Nashville Rep) and favorite roles there include Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, Tateh in Ragtime and most recently as Otto the Elder in Indecent. Last year he was in the critically acclaimed film of the world premiere stage play The Hiding Place as Willem Ten Boom (streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi). As an avid garden Garris does not stand by the advice of this play. He feeds the plants constantly.  

Creative and Production Team

Matt Logan (Director, Set Designer, Costume Designer) An accomplished designer, director, illustrator and performer, Matt Logan is first and foremost a storyteller—drawing on his multi-disciplinary talents to create a comprehensive signature aesthetic that connects every aspect of his productions, from the set to the stitching.  In his career he has designed costumes and sets for over 75 productions including 43 for Studio Tenn in Franklin, Tennessee, where Logan served as the founding Artistic Director for 9 years.  Logan's fashion designs have been worn by Reba McEntire on the CMA Awards and her 2022 tour .  Fashion also includes his collaboration with Prophetik  for  Esperanza Spalding on the 2012 Oscar telecast.  Logan’s design won best costume in the Miss USA pageant in 2021 and in 2024. Currently Logan is launching his new company , Matt Logan Productions, that had its inaugural production in July 2022 of The Hiding Place in collaboration with The Rabbit Room. His production of Hiding Place was filmed and had its world wide theatrical release in August 2023.  Expanded reach into regional theatre and further work in film is the next chapter for Matt Logan Productions.  Special thanks to Brandon Copeland and Art Farm at Serenbe for welcoming us to this wonderful community.

Elyn Collier (Choreographer) is an NYC based director, choreographer, and teaching artist. She has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned theatrical companies, including, but not limited to, Pittsburgh CLO, Barrington Stage, and Berkshire Theatre Group. Select credits: Something Rotten! (2022 BroadwayWorld “Best Dance Production”), Spamalot (2023 BroadwayWorld “Best Dance Production”), The Hiding Place, Newsies, Sister Act, Mary Poppins, White Christmas, In the Heights, Million Dollar Quartet, and Brooklyn The Musical: 15th Anniversary Concert (with Eden Espinosa and Tony Award Winner, Karen Olivia). Casey Hebbel (Assistant Director, Associate Choreographer) After years of performing in Matt Logan productions as an actor, Casey Hebbel is thrilled to be joining him on the other side of the table for this dynamite production of Little Shop! She is a proud graduate of Belmont University’s musical theatre program and holds her MFA in directing from University of Idaho. Favorite creative credits: The Muny, Waitress, The Little Mermaid (assistant director); Nashville Repertory Theatre, 9 to 5 (assistant director); Belmont University, Starting Here Starting Now, The World Goes Round (director/choreographer), Hello Dolly (choreographer/assistant director); Trevecca University, Freaky Friday (choreographer); A.D. Benji Kern (Stage Manager) is excited to be bringing Little Shop of Horrors to Art Farm at Serenbe. In Tennessee he served as associate artistic director at Studio Tenn Theater Company. Previous to his time at Studio Tenn, Benji finished a two year run on the National Tour of I LOVE LUCY, Live Onstage! In New York, Benji served as the artistic assistant at the NYC Off Broadway theater Primary Stages where he helped to produce the readings of new plays by Daniel Pearle, Margaret Hunt, Jessica Hinds, and Adam Krarr as well as the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group which featured playwrights David Caudle, Tommy Smith, Cheri Magid, Adam Szymkowics, Rogelio Martinez, and Bekah Brunstetter. While at Primary, Benji also served as the stage manager for the ESPA: Detention Workshop series of world premier 10-minute plays. Benji has worked as an assistant director Off Broadway and educationally under Casey Childs, Matt Shakman, Tyler Marchant, and Tim Howard. Favorite AD and SM credits include: Damn Yankees: Red Sox Version, starring Carson Kressley (Ogunquit Playhouse); Cendrillon (Kentucky Opera); The Morini Strad and Secrets of the Trade (Primary Stages), Death and the Maiden (Lawrence University); RENT, The Mystery of Edwin DROOD, Floyd Collins (University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.) Proud member of Actor's Equity Association.

Ace Young (Technical Director) is a man of many talents. You may have first heard of him when he came to fame as a finalist on the 5th Season of American Idol. He has since gone on to lead Broadway Shows, National Tours, and even guest starred on multiple television shows. What you don’t know is that Ace is a creator/builder. Whether he’s writing Grammy Nominated number one hit songs (Daughtry, It's Not Over) or building sets and houses, Ace loves it all. Last summer Ace was a builder for the award winning 3 show summer series, at Stages St. Louis. After that he built 2 fun sets for Art Farm and 2 beautiful sets for The Theater Bug in his home city of Nashville, TN. Ace is excited to be Technical Director here for The Little Shop of Horrors and excited to be back in Serenbe.

Meredith Schieltz (Hair, Makeup, Audrey II Wardrobe) (they/them) has traveled from Nashville and is excited to work with the Art Farm at Serenbe and Matt Logan Productions. Recent credits include Hair Supervisor for Cabaret and Wardrobe Supervisor for Driving Miss Daisy at Studio Tenn Theatre Company, Wig Stylist and Wardrobe Crew for The Color Purple and A Christmas Carol at Nashville Repertory Theatre, as well as Wig and Makeup Design for Vanderbilt Opera Theatre’s Sweeney Todd. They have also constructed wigs for Cirque du Soleil’s KÀ in Las Vegas. They have a BFA in Wig and Makeup Design from the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
