Art Farm at Serenbe Announces Partnership with Flux Projects Designed for Artists in 2023

The four week residency for artists will be located in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia

ATLANTA, March 7, 2023 – Today, the Art Farm at Serenbe team is thrilled to announce a partnership with Flux Projects to gift deserving artists the time and space to be inspired by the calming and inspirational location of Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia. The partnership offers artists a four week residency in one of the artist cottages located on the Art Farm campus. This program provides artists with endless walking trails that nourish the spirit and lots of smiling faces and extended hands in the Serenbe hamlet.

The cottages were specially designed by Rural Studio®, the off-campus design-build program, rooted in Hale County, Alabama and part of the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture of Auburn University. The cottages include a kitchen, cooking utensils, laundry, linens and furnishings, bedroom, bathroom, and living space.

“This was a truly organic partnership as our mission at Art Farm continues to be to cultivate the community’s creative, intellectual, and ecological quality of life through programs promoting social, artistic, and aesthetic curiosity,” said Madalyn Mentor, Director of Operations for the Art Farm at Serenbe. “We look forward to working with artists to nourish their spirit and creative energies in a unique environment that passionately explores, embraces, and expands the connections between nature, culture, and the art of living.”

There is no requirement that artists produce work during their residency but rather use the time to recharge their creative energies, explore new work, and enjoy the peace of place. Art Farm at Serenbe looks forward to providing opportunities for artists to engage with the public and community to talk about their work.

“Cultivating opportunities for artists has always been central to Flux Projects’s work,” said Anne Dennington, Executive Director of Flux Projects. “We have commissioned new works, supported research and exploration, cultivated collaborations, hosted visiting curators for studio visits, and presented professional development workshops.  We are thrilled to expand this through our partnership with Art Farm.”

All artists must be nominated by a partner organization to qualify for residency.
